CA-Plus announces the opening of our newest office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

"This is a great step in our goal of supporting ACCPAC clients across the country" stated Rob Carter President of CA-Plus. "As our customers open new offices across the country we want to be there with local support and service for their ACCPAC, MISys and computer networking needs."

"As the Canadian economy grows across our vast geography, we see the need for a local presence across the nation. Our Edmonton office is certainly benefiting from high oil prices and the growth of the Alberta economy. With Saskatchewan becoming a "have" province, potash at record high prices and the diversifying economy we see a large potential there", explained Mr. Carter.

CA-Plus Inc. also continues to deepen our Strategic Alliance with auditing firm, Grant Thornton. Across the Niagara peninsula, in our Hamilton, St.Catharines and Port Colborne offices we have added technical staff and are investing in marketing.   Sage integrates both Best and Accpac
 

Best Software, the leading supplier of accounting and business management software to small and medium sized businesses, and its UK-based parent company, Sage Group plc, announced in May 2004 that they have completed the integration of ACCPAC International Inc. "We are excited to have ACCPAC as a very important business unit within Best Software," stated Ron Verni, CEO of Best Software

The $US 110 million acquisition of ACCPAC adds 540,000 customers to the Best Family of products and provides a rock solid hold on the Canadian accounting software market. Historically, Best does not drop product lines, instead their strength is in cross selling.   What is happening with Accpac and SAGE?
 



What is happening at the Corporate Level with ACCPAC and its parent company Sage PLC?

For ACCPAC and CA-Plus customers the short answer is very little. Sage continues to reassure ACCPAC customers that no major changes are planned in product direction.

Where changes have been announced is with branding. The Best Software name will be replaced by Sage globally. ACCPAC will be re-branded to Sage ACCPAC and the Advantage Series will now be ACCPAC ERP with product groups such as accounting, CRM, POS, etc.

Sage PLC is a UK based accounting and business management software company with 4.5 million installations at small and medium-sized businesses globally. Sage owns over 15 software brands, with ACCPAC being acquired in 2004. ACCPAC represents one of the most important products under the Sage umbrella.
